Legacy Programs

Two of our retired programs—Elevate Collective and Visionary Fellowship—helped dozens of disabled creatives level up in their careers.

Visionary Fellowship

About The Program

We recently completed the 2025 Visionary Fellowship, a program exclusively supported by Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity. Across twelve months, the Fellowship—for disabled filmmakers looking to produce a short film as a proof of concept for their first feature—wove access through its entire process, from hiring to set accommodations to an industry screening.

Impact

"I don't know if I could have made this film on my own. I certainly wouldn't have been pushed to create a good proof of concept in the same way. Directing also helped me make a lot of professional connections and gave me invaluable, hands-on experience."
— Alys Murray, Visionary Fellow

$275K

granted to disabled writer-directors to produce a short in 2025.

Elevate Collective

About The Program

Elevate Collective provided grants and industry connections to help disabled creatives level up in their careers. The program featured writers from the Emmy-nominated Dying for Sex and Peabody-winning Our Flag Means Death, alongside Canadian Screen Award winners and Oscar-shortlisted writer-directors, all of whom have found success despite the many workplace barriers that keep disabled people from securing jobs and building careers.

Impact

"I would not have been able to afford [my first feature] opportunity if not for the grant. It supported me during the writing of the script... helped me keep software and memberships like IMDbPro, Final Draft, Shotdeck, and many others up to date...[and] allowed me to fly to Austin and visit [locations], so I could choose one to custom write this script to."
— Erin Thomas Brown, Elevate Collective
